Bright Moments
Jim A gave me the go ahead to conduct a poll, so here it is!
RDK
I'm rather ambivalent about this. I really don't see the need for one, I'd rather we not have one and further segregate music by genre... but I also don't feel any great desire to deny a Classical Music Forum to those who do want one. What to do, what to do? (I'm open to bribary...)
7/4
Vote made.
Chuck Nessa
Vote made. You'd have voted for a Feldman forum.
alocispepraluger102
would love to see a classical forum here, but with the heavy heavy hitters in this forum, i couldnt possibly add anything. i could learn a lot by reading the posts, i guess. Chuck Nessa
would love to see a classical forum here, but with the heavy heavy hitters in this forum, i couldnt possibly add anything. You seem to have great instincts - JUMP IN!
T.D.
I voted "Huh". Happy to go with existing thread(s) in "Miscellaneous Music", or whatever consensus is reached. I might actually post more there than to jazz music threads (used to spend time on classical forums).
tonym
I voted yes. Partly because I'm listening to so much more 'classical' music than I ever have and partly because the other threads get lost in the back pages if you haven't been on for a few days; I need to seek the advice of Mike, Chuck et al regarding which recordings to go for etc. Can we also post those nice images of Hilary Hahn too? mikeweil
Can we also post those nice images of Hilary Hahn too? Browse the sexiest album covers thread and you'll find one or the other good looking classical lady ...
king ubu
I voted yes - not that I'd add a lot, but it would be easier to read the respective threads more regularly if they'd be in the same place instead of spread all over!
J.A.W.
I voted no. Like I said in another thread about this subject creating separate forums for all sorts of music would clutter the board and lead to fragmentation. Not a good idea in my view. However, if there is going to be a separate classical music forum I'd also like to see one for blues/R&B - 1940s/1950s R&B, that is. Edited May 15, 2007 by J.A.W. mikeweil
I'd support a blues forum, too - miscellaneous music is a pretty wide term. A Blues Forum would make it much easier to find your valued recommendations, btw .....
king ubu
I agree with Mike - with the search-function as bad as it is and the forum growing bigger and bigger, it wouldn't be a bad thing, in my opinion. So I'd be all for a blues forum, too (again I wouldn't participate a lot, but I'd be happy to read the threads all in the same place! And that recommendation list of yours, Hans, that would have to be a sticky topic! )

Claude
I voted no, because I think that if a seperate sub-forum was created, it should be for all non-jazz styles.

Guy Berger
Can we also post those nice images of Hilary Hahn too? Browse the sexiest album covers thread and you'll find one or the other good looking classical lady ... Maybe we should start a special forum for sexy pictures of classical musicians. Rooster_Ties
I see that "Yes!" is outpacing the sum total of "No!", "Huh?", and "Not another Poll". Way to go, "Yes!"!!
