Soul Stream Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Posted May 14, 2007 I'm sorry, I guessed wrong what shitty band this is....it's even worse than Little River Band (if that's possible) IT'S DR. HOOK!!!! (WHEN YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN)...the crappiest song in the world only next to "The Pina Colada Song" by Rupert Holmes.... Quote
Aggie87 Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 I'm gonna request "The Pina Colada Song" when I make it up to the Continental Club next time. Quote
Soul Stream Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Posted May 14, 2007 I'm gonna request "The Pina Colada Song" when I make it up to the Continental Club next time. You wouldn't be the first... (just kidding, but it's been close...) Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 If you like pina coladas Getting caught in the rain If you're not into yoga If you have half a brain If you like making love at midnight In the dunes by the cape Then you're the one that I've hoped for Come with me an escape! Sheer lyrical genius right there, fellas. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Is it rude for me to ask why you are buying 8 tracks? Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Is it rude for me to ask why you are buying 8 tracks? because his reel - to - reel broke? Reel-to-reels are still used by audiophiles and record labels. 8 tracks are the province of a few guys with old trucks. Quote
suitandtieguy Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Is it rude for me to ask why you are buying 8 tracks? of course not. but i will be forced to point out that when i first saw your icon i thought "holy shit someone on the Organissimo forum has a David Sylvian vs Holger Czukay vs Jon Hassell EP as their icon!" and then i took a second look to discover it was indeed a completely different album, which is probably just as good. here's the design-wise cousin of that Lester Bowie album: Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 No image in your post I can see. The Bowie cover is from 1967 - what is the date of the image you were trying to post? Is it rude for me to ask why you are buying 8 tracks? of course not. but i will be forced to point out that when i first saw your icon i thought "holy shit someone on the Organissimo forum has a David Sylvian vs Holger Czukay vs Jon Hassell EP as their icon!" and then i took a second look to discover it was indeed a completely different album, which is probably just as good. here's the design-wise cousin of that Lester Bowie album: Quote
Soul Stream Posted May 15, 2007 Author Report Posted May 15, 2007 Is it rude for me to ask why you are buying 8 tracks? No Chuck, a perfectly legit question since it's a pretty stupid endeavor! Anyway.... Over the last 10 years or so, every once in a while I would see a classic 60's organ record...say, Jack McDuff's "Down Home Style" for $1.00 or so...and I'd buy it. Even though I never had an 8 track player. After so many years I've ended up with about 15 or so of these and when I had a chance to buy an old portable Panasonic TNT 8 track player recently, I did. I just stuck it on my workbench in the garage and when I'm out there doing stuff, I'll stick in one of the ol' 8 tracks. They actually sound pretty good... Now, can we get the Nessa catalog on 8 track... Quote
