Organ lp on capitol

i forget his name but its really a strange lp (reissue)-- was this just a major label attempt to cash in on the whole organ craze? its full of funky organ tunes, not that its band, but its just werid. i think his name was like henry cain or something like that

Henry Cain is actually a vey good organist. I dig that record. The fact they covered The Way I Feel is just a bonus. Not an individual stylist. But a good organist just the same that knew a good song when he heard it. But I think you are right about Capitol trying to cash in on the organ thing...

That one's been on my want list for a long time - but low priority. I've got the album Henry Cain (and Genghis Kyle) made with Jack Wilson (no image on web that I can find), which I like a lot. It's called "The jazz organs" and is on Vault 108.

I heard Henry Cain on a Bobby Bryant LP on Argo and liked him a lot! I always wondered what else he had recorded.

Is that "Swahili strut"? (Another long term inhabitant of the lower reaches of my want list.) Didn't know Cain was on that one.

Yes that's the one - he does a great solo on "Kriss Kross" doing the first chorus with pedals only!

I usually listen to it on a cassette tape I made many years ago on the equipment of my girlfried at the time - the LP copy I have is warped at the outer rim and I am afraid of ruining my cartridge!
