Peter Johnson
Greetings-- Looking for a copy of this CD (combines two records, to the best of my knowledge) which I can't find anywhere (other than a couple of usurious used prices on Amazon & Half). Anyone got an extra? Thanks in advance! Peter J
king ubu
No extra, but you may try djangos. They don't have it in stock, but from my experience, they might come up with one. ubu
Rooster_Ties
I've never been particularly blown away by this disc, so don't pay an inflated price for it unless you absolutely hafta have it. It's probably "good", but not any better than "good" in my book. 3-stars out of 5, at best. (IMHO)
Son-of-a-Weizen
Don't have a spare but I'll part with the one I have if you've got any interesting BNs (or others) to trade.
David Ayers
Or be silly like me and pop for the two titles separately in the Japanese SBJC series.
sidewinder
'Matador' is an undersung gem IMO. Well worth seeking out, with fine work from Bobby Timmons, McLean at his aggressive, angular best and typically lyrical work from Dorham. Check out that cool and moody title track (shame the piano wasn't in tune at Sound Mixers but it adds to the atmosphere). B)
Peter Johnson
Yippee--I was able to score this at duffelbag, and I'm listening to it now. I agree with you on both fronts, sidewinder; that this is an undersung gem, and that the *********** piano should have been in tune. I guess I'll try to convince myself that it's part of the "mood!" But I do enjoy this record. The original UA and PJ records must have been VERY limited pressing, because in my years of crate-digging I've NEVER seen either of them. Thanks for your suggestions on where to find this!
