Use or B3-er, perhaps we need a new Forum for the Blindfold Tests??

I agree - I think we need a separate forum for the Blindfold Test threads, and threads discussing the logistics of the Blindfold Tests and such.

Make it so!!!

Seems appropriate.

BTW, when do y'all think I should start soliciting interest in Blindfold Test #2? I'm thinking that at the earliest, initial discussion of test #2 can overlap the end of the post-revelation discussion of #1. Should I plan on shipping my disc when Tony announces the answers, so by the time people receive and absorb test #2, test #1 will be wrapping up?

If we do it that way, I would say that I can start collecting names and addresses pretty much anytime. (For those who are taking test #1, just need names, I've kept addresses on file.)

My only concern is that I hope it these things don't come too quickly. I have to admit that the "album of the week" thing just got to be too intimidating for me. I'd like to have enough time to give each selection some serious listening time, and of course, these won't be the only CDs I listen to during the period. For me, once a month would be about as fast as I like, but I'm sure others would want them faster. Hopefully just not too fast! :g

I just wanted to pipe-in and say how much I like the idea of the Organissimo Blindfold Test. I haven't been around that much lately, so I'm not sure who came up with the idea (my guess is Dan), but I just want to say "good job!"

I think having a separate forum for it is a GREAT idea. I was thrilled when I first saw the AoTW forum. It makes it really easy to follow.

Nice work!

Thanks AB but it was Tony-Dr.J. who came up with the idea-in the middle of the night, while feeding his newborn. Someday I hope to experience the same thing, and be equally inspired in my idle thinking ;)

Sorry, Tony J! Great idea!

I know how it is to be up all night with a newborn. My son is now 2, but when he used to keep us up at night, I couldn't come up with any ideas. I couldn't think of anything at all. What's your secret? ;)

Dan, you still came up with the GREAT idea of sending out-of-print titles out. I'm still digging the Lou Donaldson you sent me. Thanks!

OK, this is my anal nature showing through here, but there are a couple of other threads that should be moved to the new Blindfold forum. They're in the Forum discussion section and would let newcomers get a handle on the development of the way the test is being conducted.

I agree, Dan. Anything with the word "Blindfold" in the title of the thread, in the "Organissimo Forum Discussion" forum. So that would be these 5 threads...

Poll: Request for a separate "Blindfold Test" forum

similar to "Album of the Week"

Blindfold Test Redux (Pages 1 2 )

Zeroing in on a plan...

Organissimo Blindfold Test? (Pages 1 2 3 ...5 )

Just a crazy thought...

Aw, shucks!

Seriously, the reason AfricaBrass thought you came up with the idea Dan is taht you have been the prime mover/shaker, and I truly appreciate it. So here's a big public THANKS to Dan Gould, who while he didn't come up with the idea of the blindfold test has basically made it happen - the burns, the threads, clarifying ground rules, etc. Which is a damn good thing, 'cause I'm TIRED...
