Is anyone familar with this release? The store where I saw it had it under Tommy Flanagan but AMG says it is a Coltrane release. Seems many of the tunes are Flanagan's. Is it any good?

It's co-led I guess, and a bit of a jam, but a very nice session. Each of the main soloists (Tommy, Trane, Kenny) have such a lyrical sound. . . . It's swinging beauty.

Idrees Sulieman is also on trumpet. Personally, I think this session is underrated. The trio version of "How Long Has This Been Going On" is beautiful, and everyone cooks on the closing blues "Tommy's Time." I find myself pulling this one out often at times when I need to unwind.

A superb session. This was originally a Tommy Flanagan date. Flanagan composed the four originals on the album and carries the ballad feature 'How Long Has This Been Going On' as a trio track.

The album is also a not too frequent occasion to hear Idrees Sulieman.

Yes, a very good one indeed! Nice to hear Sulieman in such stellar company.

Flanagan's trio track "How Long Has This Been Going on" is stunning. He had such a nice touch!

And Doug Watkins... words fail. That's a BASS-sound!

Years and years ago-maybe within six months of my catching the jazz bug, I picked up this OJC. Ultimately didn't do enough for me and I sold it and haven't thought twice about it since. Til now, that is. This thread makes me seriously wonder whether this was another one I'll end up re-buying.:angry::P
