Congrats Cavs fans, man it must be absolutely crazy there! Don't know what the record is for worst shooting percentage is for a playoff series, but Tayshaun shot 16 for 66 (24%) for the series. Ouch! Don't know the details either but we are going CRAZY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Noj
ANYONE THINK # 24 COULD HAVE DONE WHAT LBJ DID WITH THE CAV'S SQUAD? I do, especially in the Eastern Conference.
Patrick
Cavs and LeBron have been dismissed by so many for so long. They play in the leastern conference, they had an easy path to the conference finals, all their players except LeBron "suck". I suspect some will say that Detroit played down to them, or took them for granted, or whatever other rationalization you want to use. But at the end of the day they got it done, and in retrospect, were they outplayed in any of the six conference final games? No. Was Detroit? Yes. I guess the newest rationalization (not mentioned until after their collapse) will be that Detroit (all of a sudden) sucks, so no big accomplishment. Kind of rich, but hey, Detroit also plays in the East so it fits the cliche. Detroit is a talented, deep squad, that can play with anyone in the association. And they got beat, by a team lead by a superduperstar who makes his teammates better. Cavs will be definite underdogs in the Finals. San Antonio is one of the three elite teams (and let's be clear here, there are only three of them: Dallas and Phoenix are the other two--Pistons, Cavs, Bulls can hang with the rest of the west). Cavs will have their hands full with rested and composed San Antonio, who are playing well, but Cavs have beaten them, more than once. So maybe the Cavs win a game or two, and the "East sucks" commentary will continue. Whatever. This seems likely, and if it happens I'll smile and reflect on witnessing a great season for a very good team lead by a truly great player. A player who has lived up to truly insane hype (...has anyone faced, and lived up to, as much hype as LeBron has? I don't think so). Gotta admit, the "okay fine, but they're gonna get trounced in the next round" commentary, while a reasonable view, sounds oddly familiar. We shall see. Go Cavs. Go LeBron! Quincy
Well put Patrick. Damn right you should enjoy this & it deserves respect. LeBron went from great fantasy player to great player these past few days. Although I appreciated what LeBron was doing in the NBA at the age of, well, is a Jr. or Sr.?, I really didn't expect the next step to happen this year. And not during this series vs. experienced Detroit. You know, you lose this series, talk about who needs to be added to help, and talk about whether maybe next year they can compete for the title in the weak East. That was the schedule. And really, I think most figured that the Cavs wouldn't be in the finals next year either, and then we could all talk about how maybe LeBron should be on the Knicks & save them, cause he needs to be on the bigger stage. Blah blah blah. This is really a terrific thing. I know my interest in the Finals increased by leaps & bound. Even if reality may be hard, (cliche warning), GS vs DAL and CLE vs. DET shows "why we play them." Hell, even DET vs LA was supposed to automatic, so you might as well believe in your team. Congrats to Soulstation1, Patrick & Holy Ghost and any other Cavs fan. May your hangover be mild this morning. (And yes, it happened last night.) Jim Alfredson
SS1 ain't no Cavs fan. He's just on the bandwagon! Congrats to the Cavs. Don't feel sorry for the Pistons or for me. They got what they deserved. They totally under-estimated the Cavs. My prediction: Spurs in 5. LeBron and Co. will win the title next year and probably the next two years after that. LeBron is an incredible player. I hope he wins a bunch of titles.

md655321
Haha. I was actually camping. Thankfully I didnt get to watch the game, and relied on phone call updates from friends. We need to get Larry Brown back. If that doesnt happen, trade sheed for a pick, and try to rebuild. Rip, Tay, and Chauncey are still young enough for another run in a year or two. Maxiel and Amir Johnson look like studs, and we have two picks already. If it wasnt for 04, this would have been the most frustrating 3 seasons ever. Guy Berger
I wouldn't be so sure. Well, if it happened it would be very unusual. When was the last time a team with one superstar and a bunch of nobodies won the championship? The 70s? You could MAYBE make a case for the '94 Rockets, but Hakeem had a much better surrounding cast than LeBron does. Jim Alfredson
I don't know, that little freshman PG they got ain't no slouch. And as long as the refs keep buying Valerjo's super-flops, he'll be very effective.
Guy Berger
I don't know, that little freshman PG they got ain't no slouch. You are making this judgment on the basis of 2 games. And as long as the refs keep buying Valerjo's super-flops, he'll be very effective. Varejao is a solid role player, not much more than that. Right, two very big games, on a huge stage and the kid didn't even flinch. And he's only a freshman and has only really been in the rotation since March. Like I said, they won't win it this year, but with a full year of being the starting PG next year, Gibson will definitely have an impact. He's the future Billups (who is his role-model).
