Guy Berger
We should also have a pool for which so-so player will have a breakout playoff performance, only to get a ridiculous contract the following season (Jerome James, Bonzi Wells, Tim Thomas). Jim Alfredson
Marc Stein is also picking the Heat to win the East. The guy is delusional.

Noj
The Lakers will be lucky to win a game. The Suns owned us all year. Kobe better put up 60ppg.
Soulstation1
i still think the NBA should suspend duncan for life plus one day that way shaq will finish with more rings than turtle head Edited April 19, 2007 by Soulstation1
Jim Alfredson
I am saying there is no way a Heat team with an injured Wade, injured Posey, half-effective Shaq, and a bunch of guys who should be second stringers can get past the Pistons, for no other reason than the Pistons are going to want revenge for last year (and their bench is MUCH stronger than last year). The refs gave Miami the series last year, but the suspension of Joey Crawford has put all refs on standby... they won't be so bold this year, I'm predicting. I wouldn't be so sure about that... one message the NBA may have sent (intentionally or unintentionally) with the Crawford suspension is "don't fuck with the superstars". Miami has two players that traditionally benefit from generous refs (Shaq, Wade). Guy
Jim Alfredson
Maybe, but Crawford was totally out of line giving Duncan a tech for laughing on the bench. I think the refs will be a lot more careful with their calls. But I agree that Shaq and Wade get the benefit of the doubt from the refs. Soulstation1
Fact Patrol Shaq ain't never lost to Saunders or Webber in the play-offs.... Why start now????
Jim Alfredson
He'd also never lost to Brown or the Pistons, but that didn't matter in 2004, did it?

I think the refs will be a lot more careful with their calls. No doubt, Crawford was way out of line. I'm just saying that if that had been Bimbo Coles or Smush Parker instead of Duncan getting that 2nd technical, Crawford might still have a job.
