Guy Berger Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 (edited) What do people think of this group? I'm listening to Looking Thru -- it's a little cheesy, but not without redeeming features. Very 70s. I would probably judge it more harshly if Chick Corea or Joe Zawinul were involved. Guy Edited April 12, 2007 by Guy Quote
mjzee Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I really liked the first side of Cross-Collateral. Quote
Guest donald petersen Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 i am back. the first passpost one which i think is called "doldinger" or maybe it's the other way and it's called doldinger "passport" is kind of decent. has some more soulful musicians on it-i think jim jackson is on organ on this one, for instance. the other ones are good dollar bin pickups, i guess. they have a few moments of decentness but not so much re-listen value. i hate all the album covers with the green skinned bodies on them. passport had some of the ugliest LP covers around! was passport the german oblivion express? hmmm. mikeweil Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I never warmed to Doldinger or this group in particular. He featured some great sidemen, but I found Passport cheesy compared to some of the best US fusion bands, and his tenor style somewhat forced. Quote

GA Russell Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 My favorite is the second album with John Mealing of If on organ. If you can find it, get it! I've never seen it on CD. Quote
