Pete C
I am currently using this wonderful shot by Mark Sheldon. I hope he doesn't mind. Chuck, do you know who was on stage? I haven't been to the festival since '09.

Pete C
Limited edition? What number was yours? It's an out of series proof. I decided not to use one of the erotic ones at work.

Noj
I have a folder with nearly 1200 hand-picked images from which my computer randomly selects a new image for my desktop every 15 minutes. Currently there's a watercolor by NC Wyeth up.

I haven't been to the festival since '09. I think it must be the set by Allen Toussaint with Mark Ribot and Don Byron.
Jim R
I have a folder with nearly 1200 hand-picked images from which my computer randomly selects a new image for my desktop every 15 minutes. Currently there's a watercolor by NC Wyeth up. I do something similar on my Mac, but in screen saver mode, with the images changing every few seconds. I like seeing that when I return to the computer after not using it for 15 minutes or whatever the threshold is. Plus, I can initiate it any time using the "sleep corner" thing. Sometimes I like to run that when I'm at the computer, but doing something other than actually using it (like eating). When I am using the computer, I generally can't see 90% of the desktop image anyway, so I'm wondering whether having the desktop image changing would be as interesting. Typically the only situation where I really take the time to look at my desktop image is briefly, when I'm waiting for the computer to shut down. JSngry
I use a picture I have of me & LTB from before we were married, one night in Vegas on the way to a gig, from when I was working in a "hotel show band" & she was taking a month off work to hang out with me to see if we were really going to be in it for the long haul. Or at least ready to get serious about being in it for the long haul. You never really know how much long and how much haul until after the fact. But neither of us knew that then. I used to use one of her taken in Albuquerque, in front of the Sandias, during the day, from, like, the first week after I met her, but it is just too distracting, if you know what I mean. Same for the one taken on a boat from when we were on our honeymoon.

Being completely neurotic, I minimize/maximize windows constantly as I change between tasks. Sometimes just to peek at the image that's up. Right now it's that great B&W candid shot of Mingus in a trenchcoat with a pipe in his mouth, escorting his gorgeous wife.

kinuta
For me anything other than a plain screen is distracting. I always use plain sky blue. I usually have quite a few files and shortcuts on my desktop and fancy screen pics make it hard to find stuff.
page
Usually it is a picture of my cat. She's very photogenic. Right now a picture of a leaf covered in snow made by a friend of mine who is a great photographer. It is stunning. Before this one a picture of Alcazar Spain, inside the palace. One I took when I was there in September.
A Lark Ascending
Same as my avatar: A couple of mine houses on the north coast of Cornwall at Botallack, a few miles from Land's End. Since I took this some years back the whole area has been rebranded 'Poldark Country'. The photo would be impossible today - bare-chested blokes with scythes everywhere.
