Christiern Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 arpaxa, can you reduce your photos? they are way too big and they slow down the thread when first accessed. The forum's software eventually performs a reduction, but.... Thanks Here are 3 more window shots that I use: Quote

DTMX Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I've had the same one for years. Jackson Pollock's Full Fathom Five Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 30, 2007 Author Report Posted November 30, 2007 How do you get that Pollock to fit? I just tried it and I get an inch and a half of blue down either side of the screen and a bit more than half the pic up and down (the bit from the middle). MG Quote

Christiern Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Turning it 90° in either direction ought to do it, MG, or, perhaps, 2 Pollocks are better than one? Quote
Uncle Skid Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Christiern's windows shots are very nice! Here's my desktop... this photo is from last summer's vacation at Lake Superior Provincial Park in Ontario: Quote
Christiern Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Very nice, Onslow (sorry, Uncle Skid), and thanks for the complement. And thanks arpaxa for the reduction To use this opportunity, here's another one. Quote
DTMX Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Turning it 90° in either direction ought to do it, MG, or, perhaps, 2 Pollocks are better than one? That's what I did. I rotated it and then copied and pasted parts of it to fill in the gaps that showed up around it. Now it's a Pollock collage. Quote
makpjazz57 Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Because I'm Minton's-obsessed, having recently visited this historic jazz club for the first time, this is my current desktop background/wallpaper: Marla Quote

Ah - well, I suppose with a Pollock it really doesn't matter which way up it is. Silly me... MG Quote
7/4 Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Now this Rothko, it needs a bit maintenance around the edges so it tiles seamlessly, it works for now... Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 Mark Sheldon posted this pic of Lonnie Smith on the Blindman Blues forum I enlarged it 46% this morning and cropped the bottom half off so it went to 1024x768 and it makes a SUPERB desktop. Been out shopping and when I got home and turned on the PC - wow! took my breath away! MG Quote
jazzbo Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 I change my work one a lot. Now this: Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted December 22, 2007 Author Report Posted December 22, 2007 On the Blindman's Blues forum, someone posted some paintings of bluesmen by a French artist Denis Gérablie. They're very nice. I'm using the one of Son House as my background now - over Christmas, it's a lot warmer than the Lonnie Smith. Here's the link. http://blindman.forumhoster.com/index.php?showtopic=22899 MG Quote
