This Bird and Fats cd, which includes Bird, Fats Navarro, Bud, and Art Blakey on one set and Bird, Fats, Walter Bishop, Tommy Potter and Roy Haynes on another gets discussed from time to time and is a worthy pickup. I do want to mention however that the same material appears more completely, properly credited, and in better sound within the Embers "Live at Birdland" cds. I've had both, compared both, lived with both, and some time ago gave away the "Cool and Blue" cd because. . . it wasn't as good in these ways. Quote
