neveronfriday Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 (edited) Sidney "Guitar Crusher" Selby tonight, on short notice at that. Glad I kept up with his more recent set list. Great fun. The guy still kicks ass at 75. Played a few Fats Domino and Muddy Water tunes, plus a slew of other favorites. Great fun. He'll be all over Europe these next weeks. Check him out if you find the time. Edited March 17, 2007 by neveronfriday Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 WoW! I only have 1 Guitar Crusher single - "Hambone blues". Never realised he was still around. He's not coming here. Or to Paris. MG Quote
neveronfriday Posted March 19, 2007 Author Report Posted March 19, 2007 Yeah, unfortunately he's basically relegated to smaller venues and far from going on a larger tour. His guitar skills have deteriorated substantially, but his harmonica playing and his boom-like voice are better than ever. He had the place cooking in about a minute. Stage presence to boot, credibility and oodles of skill and, of course, experience.. I'm waiting for a sound board recording and might post a snippet here or there if I'm permitted. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 Sounds like you had a good time MG Quote
