Big Al Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 I picked up the JUMPIN' AT THE WOODSIDE LP by Buck Clayton over the weekend, and now I wanna track down the OOP Mosaic. Since it's not on the Mosaic site anymore, can someone provide the discography for me? Thanks! Quote

This also eliminates some of the equalization added to the original tapes when they were prepared for LP mastering. In five cases (Moten Swing, Sentimental Journey, Blue Moon, Broadway and Jumpin' At The Woodside) we had to use LP masters because the session tapes no longer exist. There are some drop-outs on Sentimental Journey and one of Julian Dash's tenor notes on Blue Moon had to be dubbed from LP because a piece of the only existing tape had deteriorated. The most frustrating aspect of all this is that we were not able to bring you both unedited takes of Jumpin' At The Woodside, only the bizarre issued take which alternates chunks of the two takes done months apart by two different groups. Also two performances (the alternate takes of Blue Lou and Don't You Miss Your Baby) are taken from a digital master because the original session tapes cannot be found. Quote
