Peter Friedman Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Can anyone offer an opinion on this cd?Worth looking into? Thanks. Jazztropic, just listened to my copy to refresh my memory. It is a pleasant CD with Bud and Rein playing 6 very familiar standards. However, there are a number of other Bud Shank CDs that I would recommend you get before this one. These first 6 I am suggesting are all quartet sessions and to my mind are unquestionably superior to "Alone Together". I Told You So - Candid 79533 The Doctor Is In - Candid 79520 Plays The Music Of Bill Evans - Fresh Sound 5012 After You, Jeru - Fresh Sound 5026 Meets the Rhythm Section - By Request - Milestone 9273-2 This Bud's For You - 32 Jazz 32164 There is also one other duo session by Bud Shank this time with Lou Levy. It is, in my view, a very good one that I like far more than "Alone Together". Lost In The Stars: Play The Sinatra Songbook - Fresh Sound 183 Quote
