Chuck Nessa Posted March 2, 2012 Report Share Posted March 2, 2012 Don't know the current status but there used to be a huge parrot nest on the south side of Chicago at 53rd and South Shore Drive. I remember a few years ago a storm knocked down a large part of it. One other thing - Rudy Van Gelder was a birder; he and his first wife traveled in a nice motor home to track birds. marcello Posted March 3, 2012 Report Share Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) An interesting bird phenomenon in my area are wild parrots. Small groups of these escaped pets have grown into full-blown flocks of the beautiful but noisy little buggers. They seem to migrate between Burbank and Pasadena, which coincidentally enough is where my home and work are respectively. So I've seen them quite a bit. It's really odd to see a big group of green birds in the sky or in trees. When my daughter lived across from Prospect Park in Brooklyn, I read about the wild Parrots there.
