Late
I thought there was an old thread on this album, but a search only yielded Wayne Shorter threads and Chuck Nessa threads. At any rate, I still don't have it, and thought I'd ask for some opinions/discussion here before I forked over the dough.
brownie
A quite nice session. I have this on vinyl, thanks to the Fresh Sound vinyl reissues program of a long time ago! I should get that CD reissue which includes additional material! Go for it, Late. You won't be disappointed!
Stereojack
A quite nice session. I have this on vinyl, thanks to the Fresh Sound vinyl reissues program of a long time ago! I should get that CD reissue which includes additional material! Go for it, Late. You won't be disappointed! I've owned the original for many years - a lovely album, personnel includes the legendary Don Joseph on trumpet. The current Sundazed reissue contains five alternate takes, and is in stereo for the first time.
Big Beat Steve
Another Thumbs Up from me. I tried to get this through eBay for some time but my bids were insufficient each time, and then I finally landed a clean copy of the original Vik release at quite a good price. I haven't been disappointed - great guitar, great scores, but as was to be expected if you search for an item almost for ages, son aftereards a local record shop got in a stack of the Fresh Sound reissue LP's at a significantly lower price so all of a sudden the record was all over the place ... Any, no regrets at all, and unless you are a vinyl junkie, go for the CD with the extra tracks!
Shannon Dickey
Yessir! It's a mighty fine rekkid!! I have an original NM copy (vinyl is NM, cover is VG+++++ . I have had many LP dealers beg me for my copy, which was found in a Value Village (thrift store!). Don Joseph is indeed great on the album. No bonus tracks for me, I'm good w/ the LP. Huzzah!! ---HB
