I've got one a mile from my house. It's kinda convenient since there's nowhere else to get groceries within ten miles. Quote
mandrill Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I feel like pulling a trigger on good old Raleigh vs Charlotte discussion. Quote

.:.impossible Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I've lived in both, and I'd rather live in Wilmington. Charlotte and Raleigh are both landlocked and hot as hell, but Raleigh seems to be coming around from a planning perspective. More public space in the plans is a good thing. Still, I wouldn't consider either of them "world-class" or "east coast-class" cities, despite the hype that Charlotte is l"ittle Atlanta." Not to mention the level orange air quality index. Aside from the beaches, Cape Fear River, Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic, Wilmington is seriously lacking in quality public space. We want bigger parks. I am lucky to live within a few miles of two great parks. Still, I want to see the rest of New Hanover County developed in a much different way. My wife is the county long-range environmental planner, so there is hope! Quote
