Uncle Skid Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Since birthdays can be a time for reflection, please indulge me while I reminisce a little... I first came to this board at the ripe young age of 37. I was just really getting hit hard by the jazz bug; I probably had less than 20 jazz CDs at that time. I came across this board while googling something related to jazz. I don't remember the details, but I do remember reading the band's biographies, and seeing that they were from Lansing and Grand Rapids, not too far from here. Not only did I find an informative forum packed with information and knowledge, but also discovered a really cool organ trio comprised of some great musicians, who also happened to be very nice guys as well. I'll cut this short, but now almost four years and 500+ CDs later, it's hard to put into words how much all of the wonderful people on this board mean to me. Thanks for all the of birthday wishes, and more importantly, thanks for all the great music! P.S. Never heard of “Lorenzo Skidmore "Skid" Yarbrough” (had to look that one up... that was a good birthday puzzle), but I am very familiar with German beer. Just make sure mine is fruit-free! Quote
