If you can read this, you are sitting in front of a computer. Chances are, the chair you sit in to use your computer is the chair that you sit in more than any other chair in the house. For some reason, my office chair is the cheapest piece of furniture in the house, yet I use it more than every other chair in the house (I have a home office).

I am looking for a new office chair. Any recommendations?

A leather couch, in the "sweet spot" of the stereo, with a laptop on my lap!

Pretty same here, except I sit on a reclining non-leather armchair that does good to my back!

They have aerons at the studio we record at. They are truly a joy to sit in. My wife bought me a knock-off for my birthday that isn't bad. That's in my office. But the chair I have downstairs in my studio in front of the music computer is horrible. With my bad back, it's atrocious.

I need to get something good down there.

Anyone spending $750+ for a friggin' chair has too much money. Time for reform.

Hey that is cheap, compared with a MINT Blue Note from Italy. And, hey they might actually deliver your chair. :D

Not interested in those either. Had 'em, sold 'em,

If you have a bad back, like Jim does, it's not too much money. Chronic pain is a bitch, and avoiding more expensive medical treatment, if you can, is a good thing.

I had an Aeron at an office a few years back. Definitely a nice chair. I just don't have the money for that price range.

On top of everything, I was rear-ended yesterday by a 19 year old kid driving a 1976 Chrysler Cordova (I had never seen one before). He was going about 35, according to the sheriff that was driving by when it happened. I was at a stop light at a dead stop. His passenger told the cops that the driver was waving to a girl when he hit me.

This chair is less comfortable than its ever been right now.

Herman Miller Aeron Chairs. Expensive, but ergonomically designed for comfort. :tup

:tup:tup:tup

These chairs are fantastic. Sitting in one right now. No way I'd buy myself one for personal use, but my company is very generous to its employees! :)

For what it's worth, Aerons can be had for considerably cheaper than list price - I've seen them for $400-500 before. eBay's a good place to start for anyone really interested in getting one.

And no, I don't have an Aeron at home (although I do at work). But I've been considering a major upgrade to the computer chairs in our house, as they're both cheap $60-70 big-box office supply jobs that probably outlived their usefulness at least five years ago. I can sit in my Aeron at work for hours on end without fatigue or discomfort, but more than an hour or two in the chairs at home and my back starts to protest.
