Chalupa Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Whoa! Interesting detail: On the verge of their 50th anniversary, the husband and wife are 70 and 65, respectively... Cue up theme song from Deliverance. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted January 26, 2007 Author Report Posted January 26, 2007 Deliverance?! Sorry, she was likely 16 when they married which is legal in many states. Besides, can any of you top that? 50 years. That's a long time to be together. Quote
ep1str0phy Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Thanks for this--my girlfriend is petrified of mountain lions, so there's hope... Quote
T.D. Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I'm pretty sure I saw a small mtn lion out here on the East Coast last summer. Local rangers swear there are none around, but many don't believe... Quote
Spontooneous Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I saw a mountain lion just last year in a suburban Omaha neighborhood. Just chilling in somebody's yard. Apparently it's a regular problem. Lots of police with tranquilizer guns were in the process of surrounding it. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Almost hit one driving between Lawrence, KS and Topeka. Pretty far out. Quote
chris olivarez Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 They're rather prevalent in Colorado. They say you're supposed to make yourself as big as possible if you're confronted by a mountain lion. If you don't have a large caliber rifle then hopefully you'll have quick and easy access to something that can serve as a weapon and hope to god that you don't have to use it. The man was lucky his wife was handy and didn't spend all her time freaking out. This is an animal that can take down a bull elk and one on one against a human I would generally put my money on the cat. Quote
