bluesbro Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 I just got this one and listened to it for the first time. Its late Satchmo, and it is very nice. Short nice solos, but lots of swing from Pops. Had me smiling in no time. Anyone here likes this album? How does it stand with other late period Satchmo recordings? Quote
John L Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 As a childrens' record, it's great. My children loved it. For adults, I would say that there is much better later period Satch, including the Hello Dolly album. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Yes, John is right. . . . But I do like this one more and more as time goes by. Guess I'm into another childhood. . . .. Quote
