can u tell chewy about int'l airfare to europe

Recommended Posts

I still don't understand the "I couldn't stand Genesis after Petey Gabriel left" thing.

I'm not a huge fan, but I don't have a problem with any of their stuff and actually tend to prefer more of the post- Gabriel material. I guess I'm one of the few who actually liked Gabriel better as a solo artist.

I think the best Phil-era Genesis is the Abacab album. Most everything after that got a little cute/poppy for me. Though I think if you look at is as *not* prog but pleasant pop-rock, it's much easier to come to terms with it.

I love Gabriel's solo material too, maybe more than the Genesis stuff.

I like all Genesis CDs, with a preference for the post-Gabriel stuff, particularly "Abacab" and "Genesis" (with "Mama"). However, I would love to see them with Gabriel as he left waaaaay before I became a fan. I've seen the three-man version in concert several times. The show didn't change a whole lot and I have no urge to go see it again over in Europe. If it had Gabriel? Well, that'd be new and I'd have to look into that.

so ive come to realize the main obstacle of gettin chewy 2 europe is not the passport, nor even obtaining the genesis ticket- the problem is getting the airfare. ive checked expedia travelocity, etc,,,cheapest i can find it for is around 1200, 1,300-- this is despite what city i fly to....i tried paris, lyon, belgium, finland, amsterdam. the amsterdam show is standing room only which makes that priority #1, a few others are too, i think lyon, but not the ones in england.

anyways i have never been to europe and really look at is as being physically impossible- i would need to exachange my american money, as well as find a quick place to stay etc, but all that stuff doesnt bother me as much as fiding CHEAP AIRFARE> there are these student travel places im going to check out, but i CANT spend even a grand on airfare- thats about the whole budject alltogether for this thing- i HAVE to find a cheaper way-- is it possible? have any of you gone to europe for under 500? maybe 6?

Find an airline ticket consolidator.

you mean a travel agent?

No, he means a ticket consolidator, they're much cheaper.

Gotta admit, I know what that is myself.

Help?

Consolidators purchase discounted tickets/seats on planes from the airlines, in bulk basically. There are a bunch of them on the internet.

I just used airlineconsolidator.com, to check for flights from Corpus Christi to Stuttgart for a trip from 27 Jan - 7 Feb, and came up with a total cost of $823 round trip. This is on Delta Airlines.

The same trip (actually returning on 6 Feb), via the Delta website, would cost $1671.
