scottb Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 I am trying to wait patiently for the next Organissimo release... but it ain't easy!! I'm Jonesin' for some new greaze!! It's been a year and a half since THIS IS THE PLACE. There have been rumors and hints of live recordings and Christmas discs but so far... I wait. I've got a pocket full of dollars I'm willing to drop on anything you guys put out. I'd even pony up an advance if you're strapped for studio dough. Don't make me come up there and apply some of my strong-arm managerial tactics on you boys to get something going! What's the skinny? Clue me in. Anything cookin'? Quote
scottb Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 How about a little bootleg action? Maybe you guys could hook me up with some live cuts. (I said me because I don't care about these other cats, I need me some Organissimo! and I'm willing to pay for it!) Quote
Joe G Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Right now: composing, practicing, gigging again after our break, and considering our options on all the different aspects of recording, material, production, and yes, financing. We're looking towards maybe April as a possible recording timeframe, with a release following mid-summer. Keep your fingers crossed! Quote
Joe G Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 How about a little bootleg action? Maybe you guys could hook me up with some live cuts. (I said me because I don't care about these other cats, I need me some Organissimo! and I'm willing to pay for it!) Talk to Jim. And ask him to send some to me, too. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 I got lots of live stuff sitting here. Might be able to put some up on the ol' homepage. I'm excited to get back into the studio. We have some great new tunes and I've been experimenting with layering the organ with various sounds (subtle and not so subtle) in ways that haven't really been done yet (so far as I've heard). April is the target month to start recording. I plan on doing a pre-pay / donation / ArtistShare type of deal again, like last time. In the meantime, I'm still trying to get the footage of us from the Detroit International Jazz Festival. They had a bad-ass boom jib arm and everything! I want to put it up on YouTube. I'll post it here first, of course. Quote
scottb Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 Why not sell some of that live stuff to help finance the next project? Or you could include a live disc in a donation package to sweeten the deal. Example : $50 gets you a signed copy of the new disc, a lock of Randissimo's hair, and an exclusive, rare, special edition copy of Organissimo, Live at Baker's Keyboard Lounge. (I'm pretty good at this marketing stuff don't you think? ) Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 You really want a lock of Randy's hair? Not a bad idea, however. Quote
scottb Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 You really want a lock of Randy's hair? Who wouldn't? Quote
Dan Gould Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 You really want a lock of Randy's hair? Who wouldn't? Might have to rethink the price. If the promotion is too popular, supply may become an issue. Quote

Ron S Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 We'll have to do that the next time they're there. Just imagine the great cover for the CD: "organissimo--Live at the Art Museum" Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Hey Scott, there's a new (old) clip of us playing Lou Donaldson's Midnight Creeper that Joe just put on his myspace page. http://www.myspace.com/glossj I think we recorded that in 2005, just messing around in the rehearsal room. Jim Alfredson Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Another tidbit: I just put up a video culled from some footage of the 2006 Detroit International Jazz Festival. Enjoy! Quote
