Jazz Kat Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Vince is my favorite musician period! It is cool to see all these albums being put on cd, but I don't know a lot about these albums. Like if they were albums that came out as lp's, or Vince's son found never before heard music or something. Out of the following Guaraldi cd's, could someone tell me what they are? I bought The Charlie Brown Suite and other favorites. It doesn't say when that version of Linus and Lucy was recorded. Oaxaca, was this released as an lp? Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted December 20, 2022 Report Posted December 20, 2022 (edited) For anyone who cares, a massive 4-disc box set of A Charlie Brown Christmas was recently released, including everything - false starts, aborted takes, and chatter. But it is still not complete. If you want a complete A Charlie Brown Christmas, you need the following: The original album, readily available A Boy Named Charlie Brown, which includes "The Charlie Brown Theme," "Happiness is," and "Freda with the Naturally Curly Hair," all of which are heard during the play rehearsal sequence Charlie Brown's Holiday Hits, which includes "Surfin' Snoopy," the uptempo tune with horns that plays when Snoopy is decorating his doghouse Then you need to go to your local download dealer and buy the version of "O Tannenbaum" that is played as jazz waltz. (The version on the album, also heard in the film, is in 4/4.). I actually downloaded two jazz-waltz takes of "O Tannenbaum" and created. a double-length edit, as each clocks in at only around one minute each. If you are really a completist, you can also download Schroeder playing "Jingle Bells" during the play rehearsal. There is chatter and dead air embedded in the track, so I tightened it up for my version. Well, there you have it, folks. How to assemble a complete A Charlie Brown Christmas, which will run you way less and be more comprehensive than the overpriced box set. If you need more detail, let me know.
