etherbored Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 indeed - he plays saxophone. the annual bangkok jazz festival is held, each december, on the grounds of the royal palace. as was mentioned previously; jeff goldblum. i'm pretty good freinds with peter erskine. according to him, jeff likes to randomly pop into a club and sit in on piano. he's done it more than a couple times at rocco's where peter's trio with carpenter and pasqua have a semi regular. i sat next to william h macy at a steely dan gig, but that's another story. She selected Coltrane's 'My Favourite Things' as one of her desert island disks for the BBC some time back. She was married to bassist Mark Levinson, of the Paul Bley trio. They wrote a sex book together! Quote

makpjazz57 Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Comic Charlie Callas used to always make it to Buddy Rich's gigs, both in NJ an NYC. In fact, Buddy usually had him sit in on drums on flag wavers such as "Love For Sale" or Bugle Call Rag." Marla Quote
