The Magnificent Goldberg
Shopping expotition to Cardiff today, accompanied by ipod with Cab Calloway - The early years: 1930-34 - JSP Cab Calloway - 1935-40 - JSP Just finished disc 1 of the later volume when I arrived home. Now on disc 2 Calloway is AMAZING! This set keeps revealing new stuff to me, every time I give it a listen - and that's fairly frequently. jeffcrom
Ornette Coleman - Beauty is a Rare Thing: Complete Atlantic Recordings. I'm listening to all the July, 1960 tracks (with Cherry, Haden & Blackwell) which were not released at the time on This is Our Music. Pretty amazing - plenty of stuff here is every bit as good as the music they picked at the time.

The Magnificent Goldberg
Cheapo Kod Ory comp on Quadromania. Disc 1 is mostly 1944 broadcasts. Rousing! (By the way; is that REALLY Ory on the sleeve?) MG

jeffcrom
Duke Ellington - Centennial Edition (RCA). Disc 16, from 1946. I hate the internal design of the box - my CDs slide all over the place - and the booklet fell apart within a week, but this is still one of the cornerstones of my collection. colinmce
I can only pine for the big box, but I love the mid-forties stuff, maybe even more than the early 40s.
