AllenLowe
just re- that Count Basie/Columbia box - when I was re-mastering the small-group version of Going To Chicago for my blues thing, I was somewhat shocked to hear that the version on the old Superchief LP sounded significantly better than the one on the CD box - they did just a little too much noise reduction on it, sad to say. The Magnificent Goldberg
Today's been a day for Cab Calloway & his Orchestra Volume 1: 1930-1934 - JSP Volume 2: 1934-1940 - JSP Nine solid hours of total hipness! Oh, I just love this band more than any other, I think. MG
John Tapscott
Count Basie - The Complete Decca Recordings - 3 CD's (GRP) - a great set , even better, I think than the America's #1 Band set on Columbia (though I'm glad I have them both). Yes, the music is better on the Decca set. No "dis" to the Columbias - you need those too.

spinlps
First two discs of Joe Henderson's Milestone Box. For the longest time, I thought Joe Henderson's catalog ended after his Blue Note years... this box has made me realize how wrong I was. spinlps
I loaded the set into iTunes last night and hit random play on the commute in this morning. Some great, great stuff there. And I only paid $20 for the box! The shop had another copy at that price if anyone wants me to pick it up for them. PM me. First two discs of Joe Henderson's Milestone Box.
