Matthew
Bill Evans Trio: Consecration. Disk Three. I know that Turn Out The Stars is supposed to be the cat's meow, but I prefer the Consecration/The Last Waltz sets, Evans seems much more relaxed here. Cliff Englewood
I think I'll have to get this one before it goes OOP. I have Vol 1 and 2 but they don't have any alternates. clifford_thornton
I'm told that the disc covering "Free Jazz" doesn't do the scene(s) in Germany historical justice. Frankfurt & environs are pretty much left out.
Stefan Wood
Actually, there are two discs that cover "Free jazz" in the box. One in West Germany, the other in East. The final two discs are improvisational stuff. Hey, for $27 this isn't bad at all.

poetrylover3
Joe Henderson: The Milestone Years Bill Evans: Turn Out The Stars. There's a lot to take in here so I'm listening to one disc repeatedly over several days. This is wonderful playing. I think he went out on top of his game.
