mikelz777
Great in quality and incredible variety. This (along with vols 2 & 4) is probably one of the best compilation sets I own.

Peter
Purchased Dave Douglas' new (DOWNLOADABLE ONLY!) boxed set - Live at the Jazz Standard.. 12 sets, 6 nights... Great stuff! I wish a hard copy was available! I was seriously considering this till I saw it was MP3 only. For $70 I would expect lossless (FLAC) files. Scott Dolan
John Coltrane: The Prestige Recordings. Ditto. Lotsa gems in there! No doubt. Question: does anybody else with this box have a problem with the paper cover on the back, or bottom, of the box. Mine wasn't properly glued on and now comes off everytime I pick it up. Cliff Englewood
Miles Davis: The Complete In a Silent Way Sessions, nice to hear all this stuff in the order it was recorded. It's kinda like one big long nice piece of music.
tranemonk
I know... they caught a lot of flack (no pun intended) for not doing that and not offering a hard copy... Overall I wouldn't recommend buying the set... just a couple of dates... Purchased Dave Douglas' new (DOWNLOADABLE ONLY!) boxed set - Live at the Jazz Standard.. 12 sets, 6 nights... Great stuff! Uncle Skid
Some good stuff posted on this thread! Reminds me I really need to pick up the Mingus Atlantic and Holiday Verve sets. Lately, I've been buried deep in my two all-time favorite box sets: Classic Quartet: Complete Impulse! Cliff Englewood
After reading through the Stan Getz post in "Recommendations", and seeing how many people listed this little gem; The Complete Roost Recordings I gave Discs 2 and 3 a spin last night. Getz and Raney were just amazing together. I think if this was repackaged as a Mosaic Select: Stan Getz: The Complete Roost Recordings, people here would be raving about it alot more, I mean Malcolm Addey is involved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really wish I could find the The West Coast Sessions Box at a cheap price.
