Kari S Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 Miles' Complete OTC Sessions... GOTTA love those "drum'n'bass" grooves the rhythm section(s) whip up. SO ahead of their time! Actually...the only thing that bugs me...is...Miles himself. Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 It was practically all boxes for me yesterday. In the evening, it was Smiley Lewis, Guitar Slim, T-Bone Walker & Pee Wee Crayton - New Orleans guitar - JSP MG Quote
poetrylover3 Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 Disc 1. Basin Street Blues. An amazing track-smoky and full of dramatic spaces. Victor Feldman's solo is a gem. Miles' playing is on another planet! This is probably my favorite track from this particular Miles aggregation. Quote
six string Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Yesterday I was going back and forth between the Eric Dolphy Prestige box and the Joe Henderson Mileston box. I had never heard Multiple (JH) before and really enjoyed it. Trane Whistle on the ED box sounded very good too. I didn't compare it to my vinyl copy, as I don't really do that sort of thing, but it really got my attention. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Trane Whistle on the ED box I didn't know there was an Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis box. What is it? MG Quote
sidewinder Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 (edited) Trane Whistle on the ED box I didn't know there was an Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis box. What is it? MG Dolphy Complete Prestige Recordings box Edited May 31, 2008 by sidewinder Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Trane Whistle on the ED box I didn't know there was an Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis box. What is it? MG Dolphy Complete Prestige Recordings box Oh. ED doesn't stand for Eddie Davis, then A complete Jaws Prestige recordings box would be nice! I'm sure there are still two or three albums I haven't got MG Quote
six string Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 In this case the ED stood for Eric Dolphy as I had mentioned in the paragraph preceding it. But on another day it could be Eddie Davis. I've got plenty of time for Lockjaw. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 In this case the ED stood for Eric Dolphy as I had mentioned in the paragraph preceding it. But on another day it could be Eddie Davis. I've got plenty of time for Lockjaw. Oh yes, I've re-read it now and see where I was confused. MG Quote
