Miles complete at Montreux, bought yesterday, and so far much better that I had feared. Since I own nothing post retirement-does this mean I would enjoy the regular albums?

Yes, I think you'd enjoy most of them. Definitely likely to enjoy "We Want Miles," "Star People" and "Decoy."

yesterday finished the Storyville Duke Box and went on with the corresponding mid-forties studio discs from the RCA Centennial box (discs 14-17) - great, great music!

Yes! I went on just now with the earliest chapter, Masters of Jazz Vol. 1 - to be continued by "The OKeh Ellington" (2CD) and "Early Ellington" (3CD) sets, and then with the respective discs from the Centennial box!

I wish they had put the tracks in "album sequence", and the packaging, as usual with box sets (Mosaic excepted), is a bit of a pain, but nonetheless the music is wonderful!
