Tony Pusey
Miles complete at Montreux, bought yesterday, and so far much better that I had feared. Since I own nothing post retirement-does this mean I would enjoy the regular albums?
jazzbo
Yes, I think you'd enjoy most of them. Definitely likely to enjoy "We Want Miles," "Star People" and "Decoy."
king ubu
yesterday finished the Storyville Duke Box and went on with the corresponding mid-forties studio discs from the RCA Centennial box (discs 14-17) - great, great music! jazzbo
I agree, great music. Right now the Transparency Sun Ra Detroit box again. Lots and lots of percussion right now. . . which is . . . okay.
king ubu
Yes! I went on just now with the earliest chapter, Masters of Jazz Vol. 1 - to be continued by "The OKeh Ellington" (2CD) and "Early Ellington" (3CD) sets, and then with the respective discs from the Centennial box! John Tapscott
John Coltrane - Fearless Leader (Prestige) I wish they had put the tracks in "album sequence", and the packaging, as usual with box sets (Mosaic excepted), is a bit of a pain, but nonetheless the music is wonderful! Matthew
SUN RA: Complete Detroit Jazz Center Residency. Disk one. Just arrived today, and it's one monster of a box set, but I'm digging what I'm hearing. Don't know if they're selling these in order but mine is #246 for a 400 copy set.
