Big Al
Sonny Stitt 'Stitt's Bits' (Prestige), disc 2 That is SUCH a sweet box! It is THE reason I'm willing to give Concord the benefit of the doubt.
Big Al
I'm presently listening to Disc 3 of the Joe Henderson Milestone Years box set. Disc 3 contains the live performances from the Lighthouse Cafe in 1970. On the track "A Shade Of Jade" Woody Shaw just kicks ass! Nice version of "Round Midnight" also. How can you go wrong with a track like "If You're Not Part of the Solution, You're Part of the Problem," which has one of the NASTIEST grooves ever committed to vinyl! The Magnificent Goldberg
Cab Calloway - The scat song - Quadromania I've played this box a lot over the past year and a bit. Each time, I find something that just stops me in my tracks. This time, it was "St James Infirmary" and Hilton Jefferson's solo on "Willow weep for me". This is wonderful music!
