I didn't remember it when I listened to it, but when I discovered it I remembered I'd seen that before. So I was in fact surprised. Quote
ghost of miles Posted April 15, 2022 Report Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) Revisiting this warhorse from the Fantasy catalogue (speaking of which, I really miss the old print Fantasy catalogues that circulated in the 1990s and into the 2000s. I think I have one or two stashed in a box somewhere… used to love flipping through those and circling titles in which I was interested). Edited April 15, 2022 by ghost of miles Quote

It was great being able to buy back catalog CDs at $5 each, including shipping, though I didn’t fill all of my wish list prior to Concord’s purchase of Fantasy. Quote

Love it, the first big set I bought with Monk's Riverside, I play it often. Quote

The Monk Riverside and the Bill Evans Riverside and Fantasy sets too. Oh - and the wonderful Coltrane Prestige. Plethora of riches ! Edited April 16, 2022 by sidewinder Quote

I have a PDF of a late (possibly last) Fantasy catalog, and refer to it often. Quote

mikeweil Posted November 10, 2022 Report Posted November 10, 2022 Decided to re-visit this set, one disc each day. Today it was disc 4. My recently bought Micromega CD-30 player really opens up a window into the studio and demonstrates how well these tracks were recorded. Never heard the sound of Miles, Cannonball, and Coltrane so clearly. Quote
Bluesnik Posted November 11, 2022 Report Posted November 11, 2022 A very great set. And one in which I also especially like Goodman. And Hampton. Quote
