These were legitimately licensed to Applause in the early 80's when Blue Note was dormant. Capitol revived the Blue Note label around 1986.

Blue Note had an exchange deal in the early fifties with Vogue France. Vogue issued a number of ten-inch LPs from the BN sessions on their Jazz Selection, Swing and Vogue labels.

This enabled BN USA to issue material from Vogue, including the Clifford Brown in Paris, Gigi Gryce, Sidney Bechet and Claude Luter, James Moody, Mezz Mezzrow, Dizzy Gillespie, etc... sessions recorded for Vogue.

There's one Wayne Shorter BN album from about 1970 that was licenced to One Way (if I remember correctly), that that's the only CD release it's ever seen. (Can't remember the title, and I'm at work away from my copy.)

Moto Grosso Feio. Not one of his better dates.
