Time Magazine's Top 100 Albums

Time Magazine has created a list of what they think are the top 100 albums of all time, since 1954.

Nearly all of them are rock. The jazz albums are Kind of Blue, A Love Supreme and Bitches Brew.

Each album listed has a link to a discussion of why it was chosen, and further links to related stories regarding the music.

You might find it interesting to read what a mass market publication is telling the masses, though I don't think anyone here will be persuaded by anything they write.

Wow... KIND OF BLUE was released by Sony in 1959. Very AMG-esque. The kids who assembled this list probably never owned a record.

I agree. At the same time, I'm a little surprised that there are so few records I really dislike on this list. There are a few (Elton John, Madonna, Stone Roses, Paul Simon, etc), but overall I either love, like or tolerate everything they listed.

PS: Robert Johnson was a great 60s artist.
