monkboughtlunch
Was this Don Patterson Lp ever reissued completely on CD - or is it just spread out over a couple of compilations?
JSngry
No CD that I know of, but the LP's been reissued in its original form. Dusty Groove carried it recently, but at the moment doesn't seem to. Japan seems to have it, though: http://www.ticro.com/search/D10001991/no_sub/detail/
Al in NYC
4 of the tunes show up on this CD, which also features some sessions with Patterson & Houston Person: While the title tune shows up on this one, which is all Patterson & Ervin from 3 LPs: I believe both are still available. I have both of the Acid Jazz series CDs, but I like listening to the album as a whole. Despite being recorded at different dates, and with an extra alto player, the whole thing has always seemed to hang together very well to me. Mind you, I have the LP In fact, I have the best of both worlds - it's a stereo LP (orig) with a mono cover (orig), so I haven't got "stereo stereo stereo stereo stereo stereo stereo" right across the top to spoil the sleeve design. I don't know how this happened, but I'm happy. Time to play this again. MG
Kevin Bresnahan
Why not just rip the 5 tracks off of the two CDs and make your own standalone copy? I've done that myself with a couple of Mosaic boxes. Heck, you could even have fun with the artwork.
