mikeweil Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 I must have missed the announcement of this series when it was launched earlier this year. So far I found: Jon Hendricks, A Good Git-Together (Pacific Jazz) Chris Connor at the Village Gate (FM/Roulette) Does anyone have a complete list? Thanks, as always! Quote
king ubu Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Didn't find any list, but there's plenty of others - I saw at least six or seven in a store a few months ago but wasn't sure if there hadn't been a thread about them already... If anyone has a list, please post it! Quote
jazzbo Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 I didn't know it was a series under its own. . . there were also recent releases from Christy, VAughn, London, Rawls and Staton I remember as a batch. I didn't get any of them; had what I would have bought on other British EMI and Mosaic issues. Quote
brownie Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Don't have a complete list but the following were in that batch: Sarah Vaughan + 2 Dakota Staton Dynamic Irene Kral 'The Band and I' The Intimate June Christy Dinah (Shore) Sinds, Previn Plays Julie London 'Around Midnight' Quote

king ubu Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Thanks for that link! Strange that it says 8.99€ in the title but the discs are all 9.99€! So here's the list, for later times, when the link won't work anymore: Chris Connor - At the Village Gate (Roulette) Jon Hendricks - A Good Git-Together (Pacific Jazz) Julie London - Around Midnight (Capitol) Sue Raney - All By Myself (Capitol) Dinah Shore - Dinah Sings, Previn Plays (Capitol) Dakota Staton - Dynamic! (Capitol) Sarah Vaughan - Sarah + 2 (Roulette) Joe Williams - A Man Ain't Supposed to Cry (Roulette) Quote
mikeweil Posted December 20, 2006 Author Report Posted December 20, 2006 Thanks - I faintly remember reading this list. As I had just bought the Lonehill issue of the Hendricks (always wondered why Cuscuna didn't get around to that one much earlier!) I may have ignored it ..... anyway, the new issue sounds much better (the Lonehill was dubbed from LP and heavily denoised - I suspect de-hissing on the new CD as well, the cymbals should sound brighter).
