I think the best choice is Bix Restored Volume 1 on Origin Jazz (mentioned above). This first volume has ALL the Wolverine sides in excellent sound, ALL the Goldekette sides in excellent sound, and the last disc includes a lot of Bix greatest recordings with Tram including In a Mist and Singin' the Blues and as a bonus a few Jess Stacy recordings of Bix piano tunes Bix never recorded. Volume 2 Bix Restored is only slightly less essential with the early Whiteman sides and more Bix/Tram small group sides. There really is no substitute for the Bix Restored series.
