The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 To Lon and Chewy - best wishes from someone who doesn't know when Thanksgiving is (and has only a vague idea that it was something to do with the Pilgrim Travelers (sorry, Fathers)). MG Quote

sheldonm Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 ....working Friday (no phones, email, people stopping by my office), my better half's grandfather passed away on Monday ....funeral on Saturday...may see Nicholas Payton on Sunday....not sure. Not going near the malls....will continue my trend to do any shopping on-line! Good luck to Lon, his better half and Aric as well! m~ Quote
Herb Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I'll be working, too; but it will probably be a very short day because at least half of my customers to see that day will be closed. Best wishes and prayers for Lon and Aric. Quote

Okay, here's the GOOD news part of the equation: we're being released after tomorrow to go home for about ten days, so we're going to be traveling home on Thanksgiving day, and we'll be going to the clinic in Austin, about a mile from our house, instead of in Houston, on Friday. I'm going to get to spend some time with my cat, my stereo, and probably work half a week. Good times ahead! Lon, you & your wife are in my thoughts & prayers--you too, Aric. I hope the coming days bring all of you some moments of happiness. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 All the best to Lon and Chewy's families. Made four pies today! That oughtta hold 'em! Quote

7/4 Posted November 24, 2006 Report Posted November 24, 2006 I spent the last three days in bed with a temp, mostly sleeping w/very little food. I have a doctors appt. later this afternoon that's been scheduled for weeks. I'm looking forward to finding out what he has to say, but I'll bet he just orders more tests. At least they think it's not my liver - or that's what they said two weeks ago. I'd really like to have the energy to play my new guitar. Quote
Peter Johnson Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Just got back to Seattle from Philadelphia where I spent a relaxing four days catching up with friends from the old 'hood. Man, I miss that city. The rest of the weekend holds catching up on work, seeing some friends, and figuring out where I want to live.... Quote

At least part of the problem is a fatty liver (I was wrong), but I have no pain there. The other is the IBS I've had since July '05, Now that I'm having significant temps, my Dad's doctor is suggesting Diverticulitis. My appointment with the internal medicine specialist was canceled 45 min. before the appt., but I insisted that I get a doctor who would look at me that day. Naturally, she ordered more tests. I hope everyone had a nice holiday and they're feeling better. Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Get better soon, 7/4. I've had my share of medical issues of late. What causes a "fatty liver?" Hope it doesn't come from Bud Select.... Quote
7/4 Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Thanks guys. I'm not too sure what the fatty liver is all about. I still have to see my internal medicine doctor about it, new blood tests on Monday (inc the liver enzyme levels that were elevated) should show some difference. I started antibiotics this afternoon. It's looks more and more like undiagnosed Diverticulitis which would unbalance things enough to affect the liver. About the fatty liver, I was about 30 lbs. overweight, I lost 12 in the past three weeks through a combination of diet, stopping drinking and being sick. I think once I get past the antibiotics and get some food in me, I'll gain a few pounds back. Quote
