Are all those Atlantic's listed really 24 Bit remastered? If so by who, and where or maybe even how? :D

I'd be interested in the following;

WPCR 25151(New)24 bit Tristano,Lennie(p)/Tristano* 2310

WPCR 25152(New)24 bit Konitz,Lee(as)/Lee Konitz with Warne Marsh* 2310

WPCR 25155(New)24 bit Charles,Teddy(vib)/Teddy Charles Tentet* 2310

WPCR 25159(New)24 bit Mitchell,Red(b) & Harold Land(ts)/Hear Ye Hear Ye* 2310

Any more info would be appreciated.

Thanks for that etherbored, it's just that I would be a bit suspicious about claims of re-mastering classic Atlantic stuff, I mean, has anyone actually heard any improvement in sound quality on previous reissues and how would they get their hands on the original tapes?

And a lot of tapes were destroyed in the Atlantic warehouse fire; I don't know which ones of the above list (if any), though.

"And a lot of tapes were destroyed in the Atlantic warehouse fire; I don't know which ones of the above list (if any), though."

That's what I thought and was kinda implying, how can any Atlantic stuff ever really be re-mastered?

I think it's good that I can now get a copy of "Hear Ye Hear Ye" for example, but I doubt it'll sound anything other than ok.

Obviously the tapes for the 'Hear Ye!' album were not destroyed. They surfaced on an Atlantic CD back in 1989 with two previously unreleased tracks. That CD sounded much better than the original mono LP! Not really unusual for Atlantic vinyls!

i'm looking for the list that contains the first 20 of this atlantic 60th anniversary 24-but mini-lp reissue series and i didn't see them anywhere, so it's available here...

I'm still wondering which sources they used when they remastered the Coltranes in that list, as the tapes were destroyed.
