Heading to Santa Fe, Chimayo, Taos, Jemez Springs in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to the sights, sounds, mountain air and NM cuisine.

Y'll had a five-rnghter, and we were there for three. my wife dug it, & Jon was the consummate gentleman. Stablemates, has he ever recorded those lyrics? He should.

I was only in Santa Fe for a day or two. Sadly never got to sample any Mexican cuisine there, settled for a Chines buffet which was pretty good by our standards. Nevertheless a nice city. It's unlikely but I would like to return.

Murray Wall was on bass. We played in the bar of the Albuquerque Sheraton. One night a fight broke out in the bar during our set. Jon got all offended and stormed off the bandstand leaving the rhythm section to duck the onslaught of flying beer bottles. There was no chicken wire! We played Santa Fe for two nights a couple of weeks later at a place called Club West.

Club West is long gone.

Lots of "local" guys playing around town - John Rangel, Bob Fox, John Trentacosta, etc.

Best venue is The Outpost in Albuquerque run by Tom Guralnick.

It was the night of the Holmes/Cooney fight. The hotel offered a closed circuit TV package.
