sidewinder Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Well, I'm having an urn of coffee and listening to a Karin Krog vinyl compilation. Pretty nice. Still recuperating from having to attend a great Wayne Shorter gig whilst full of a head cold. What a night ! Quote

Yep, this compilation on Crippled Dick has one track with Surman. 'New Spring' from 'Cloud Line Blue' (1978). A standout. Quote

The quartet with Perez/Pattitucci/Blade - this must be about the 5th time I've seen them. I was lucky enough to get a 2nd row stalls seat right behind Brian Blade. Someone cancelled so it was a late return. Talk about luck ! Parts of the concert were broadcast by BBC radio 3 last night (see their website) and the whole thing will apparently be broadcast in the near future in the Friday-night slot. It was a wonderful concert so check it out when it comes up for airing. Fantastic version of 'Prometheus Unbound' late in the show with Shorter going for broke on soprano. First half of the concert was by the splendid (and also age-less) Stan Tracey with his trio. Edited November 11, 2006 by sidewinder Quote
