BERIGAN Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 What about the green Volkwagen Beetle that shows up multiple times during the chase? http://www.rjsmith.com/bullitt-locations.html I just picked up the DVD a couple of months ago, and that's the one thing that stuck with me. The damned bug is always there first. If the other driver's had noticed, they'd have just given up... Funny, I didn't notice the bug for a long time, it was the firebird that showed up 3-4 times that caught my attention. The Charger also missed the pumps in case you didn't know. They blew up the pumps and the Charger wizzes on by, they edit it so you don't really notice. Quote
BERIGAN Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 (edited) ...I've been on a real kick for early 1970s crime drama lately... Me too. Dirty Harry, Taking of Pelham, Blaxploitation flicks. I love the scenes in the police precincts. Everyone looks so unhealthy. All the cops are fat, have bushy sideburns, and bad combovers. You can almost smell the stale cigarettes and coffee in the air. And they're always eating these enormous pastrami sandwiches... The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three is a great movie! Rainy day today , so i stayed in and watched Pelham One,Two,Three on the retroplex channel. Perfect movie for a day like today very gritty looking . That BIG yellow tie Matthau wore at the beginning of the movie not only clashed with his shirt and jacket but it was also the only bright color in the whole movie. Quote

Yeah, I love the scene in Dirty Harry where Eastwood motions to another cop to go over a fence to get into Kezar stadium: "Not me," he says to Harry, "...Too much pasta." Quote

Favorite line (among many): "You dumb sonnafabitch, you do what I tell ya or you'll be havin' DINNER with Caz Dulowitz!" The one time in the movie where the Matthou character really looses his cool. Teasing the Korean Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) On November 5, 2006 at 1:27 AM, robviti said: From a Lalo Schifrin website: "The jazz combo that performs Schifrin's "A Song For Kathy" in the film is said by singer Susanna Van Tassel to be her father's Bay area combo. The film's star, Steve McQueen, saw the group perform once and asked them to appear in the film." Van Tassel's father is the guitar player in question, not Martino. From the liner notes to the expanded "Bullitt" CD: "For technical reasons, Schifrin had to re-record the music [Song for Cathy] during his scoring sessions, and opted to compose a new piece (performed by Bud Shank, Ray Brown and Howard Roberts) that matched the screen action…" Edited February 20, 2016 by Teasing the Korean Quote
