Don Brown Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Just heard from the local supplier of the Classics labels (the Complete Chronological jazz series and the Blues & Rhythm series) that they are no longer available from his source in Los Angeles. Are the labels dead or in yet another hiatus? Quote

Are the labels dead or in yet another hiatus? I heard from a reliable source that their European distributor recently went belly up owing the label a large amount of money. Whether they can survive this setback remains to be seen. Quote

Whether they can survive this setback remains to be seen. I think I've already posted it elsewhere-their new distributor is Abeille Musique France. They are at the present busy reissuing the back catalog, but no new issues have appeared after #1429( Lionel Hampton 1951-53). However you will be able to find a large slice of the back catalog here: Chronological Classics Quote
