lukrion Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Has anyone had the chance to listen to the new RVG and the SACD version of Blue Train? I don't mean to compare the SACD layer to the RVG issue. Instead I'm curious if they threw the RVG issue on as the CD layer of this Hybrid. I haven't cracked it open yet. But I did notice that RVG did the SACD layer in addition to the CD layer. It is not labeled as an RVGSACD! Quote

shawn·m Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Lukrion, did they snag your SACD player too? Bastards. As you might expect, there’s also a range of opinions concerning the SACD layer. view with squinted eyes Quote
RICH Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 (edited) Call me crazy but I sold my copy of the MFSL disc after I picked up the JRVG version a few years ago. To me, the MFSL version is really lacking in detail. After hearing the JRVG, I realized that there was a lot more on the tape than I had ever heard before. Edited August 27, 2003 by RICH Quote
jazzbo Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 I've been enjoying the RVG too. It sounds great to me on my main system. Yes, it's a bit brighter than the McMaster version, but it has so much life and detail in comparison. It's the best I've heard this session. Quote
