connoisseur series500 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 So which Fallout did you play, Conn? The first one or the second one? Both are great games. FALLOUT2. It was fun cruising around the desert with my "friends," Myron, Vic, the sharpshooter from the tavern near that cleaned up town (forgot his name.) Oh yes, Marcus with his machine gun. Never figured out how to finish the game though. Couldn't rescue the tribespeople. Couldn't get through some doors, I think. Anyone know how to do it? I just love the action points feature. It enables us to really plan out our moves. Works better than realtime. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 11, 2004 Author Report Posted February 11, 2004 There were some bad bugs in the game. If you download the latest patch, it would fix it and allow you to finish the game I think. Quote
rockefeller center Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 The Incredible Machine. A sweet game. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 There is also rumors about Fallout 3 being in development. Fallout 3 FAQ I checked out this link, Jim. Sure would be nice. The demand certainly seems to be there, but there's so much secrecy. Wonder why? Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted February 11, 2004 Author Report Posted February 11, 2004 Well, Interplay holds the rights to the Fallout brand and they've cancelled and restarted the project 3 times. Who knows if it's actually going through? My guess would be no, but there's always hope. I would go to the Interplay website to find patches for Fallout2. Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Thanks Street. I did check out the info and it seems like a big rigmarole. You have to befriend a few people and you don't necessarily get into this huge shooting war with everyone wearing power armor. It's more fun not to finish the game and just try to shoot everybody instead! Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted July 16, 2004 Author Report Posted July 16, 2004 I played the first one. Haven't played any others just due to time. The first one was cool! I don't have any time for gaming anymore which is a bummer because it's something I really enjoy. Oh well. I will, however, buy Fallout3 and try to play it when or if it comes out. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Up for Conn.... Great news, Jim! My kid is jumping up and down in anticipation. Looks like I'm going to be showing up for work in the morning with bloodshot eyes. I'll wait till a weekend before buying it. Again, I think the Fallout games were the best ever created. Quote

rockefeller center Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Use3D, what are you playing these days? Quote
Use3D Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 My Sega Saturn and City of Heroes for PC when I get time. My computer is still from 2004 era so I'm kinda in a pinch, I borrowed my best friend's XBOX 360 and almost beat Fallout3, which Bethesda did a great job on preserving the feel of the other games. Jim came over and saw it just the other day now he's off buying a new computer. I'm torn, since the new consoles are going to stick around for a while, I'm not sure if I should invest in one of them or a new pc. i was building a new computer every two years but fell behind since this one has held up so long. I have 6 active game consoles i still use often, plus my Nintendo DS, so I shouldn't neglect them by buying another...it's a tough time for gamers on a budget. Quote
