chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted September 22, 2006 Author Report Posted September 22, 2006 why did she always use a bass player- was that just her style or what? is there an offical statement on this Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 why did she always use a bass player- was that just her style or what? is there an offical statement on this Some (or one) of her sleeve notes mention that she normally played live without a bass player but one was included for recording sessions. No explanation. Her bass seems fine on "Dearly beloved". MG Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted September 22, 2006 Author Report Posted September 22, 2006 stewreorjack: is the album "fusion" how does the mellotron fit in to the picture Quote
JSngry Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I've got it, it's great, exactly what you would expect/hope for out of that lineup, but frankly, I don't remember the mellotron. It's not prominent at all. Quote
andybleaden Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Its this one I think. Think I saw it, sampled it feelin really excited and left it in the pile. BUt I have done that to many many records and cds Quote

Brad Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I take this is a vinyl only. Would love to see it on cd. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 It's her best album, imo. The mellotron is on one track, just a string sound behind the organ, nothing special. Harold Vick plays his nuts off on this one and Billy Higgins is his usual jovial self. It's a great record. Quote
