Brownian Motion Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Hi! How are you? My name is Ekaterina. I from Russia, city Cheboksary. To me 28 years. I corresponded with the man from the your country before. His name Dave. We had a long correspondence and Dave wanted, that I have arrived to him in that I have seen what life there. We have together submitted the statement on reception of the visa in your country! Dave spoke, that will help my in our meeting. I thought, that have met on the Internet the love. I and Dave made the big plans for the future, but in a flash all has changed. From the moment of submission of the statement for the application of the visa has passed 5 months. For these five months there was for what I least waited. Dave informed, that his former wife has returned to him and lives together with him. Soon they should get married. And now in Dave plans there is no me. I wrote to him some times after that, but Dave have wished me only good luck in the further searches worthy men and have told, that our roads miss. And in March to me there has come the invitation in embassy behind reception of the visa. In the beginning I wanted to throw out the invitation in embassy. To me it was sad, because my dreams were failed, I have nobody to fly in the Your country. But my uncle have dissuaded me from resolute actions and have told, that else there is a chance to find worthy the man and to use the visa to a meeting with him. I well know English and German languiage. I practically have visa in your country. My uncle speaks, that it really solves many problems. Approximately in one week the visa will be ready, and I should go to Moscow behind reception of the visa. I write to you because in my heart there is an empty seat. I do not search rich or poor. I search careful and responsible man which wants to have children and to enjoy in family life. Is this person you? I think, that I ask not much. I have told to you a little about my life. I have told not all about myself, but it will be easier to me to write about myself if you will ask questions which interest you. I have told to you the history, and now with impatience I shall look forward to hearing from you. Write to me and I shall send you more photos in the following letter. I wait you answer. Ekaterina. P.S. you can write me on: ptehka122@gawab.com Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I get wanna-be registrations from gawab.com addresses every single day on this board. So many that I've had to make it so every registration gets manually approved by me, otherwise you'd all be inundated with cigarette ads, porn, and stock market tips. Quote

JSngry Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Call me crazy, but I think there's a good chance the chick in the picture is really a dude. Quote
Brownian Motion Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 Call me crazy, but I think there's a good chance the chick in the picture is really a dude. You're crazy. Seriously, If you're trying to scam the flower of foolish American manhood, and you're truly serious about it, then I don't think you're going to send a man to do a woman's job. Quote
B. Clugston Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Nigerian scam, Russian style. I got one these once, purportedly from an Ekaterina, and with a photo. The next day I get another one from an Olga, but with the same photo. Quote

Aggie87 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 some of the comments on that detective site are kinda funny. paraphrasing one: "I thought something might be fishy after I'd sent her $1900 for planefare and a visa, and she never showed up". Quote
Robert J Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 So basically were these women who were tricked into modelling and then had to write letters to pay back a debt? Quote
Robert J Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 some of the comments on that detective site are kinda funny. paraphrasing one: "I thought something might be fishy after I'd sent her $1900 for planefare and a visa, and she never showed up". I saw one letter and it was adressed to "Robert". Just reading that and seeing my name made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and even manly. So I can see how this might happen. Quote

Dan Gould Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 (edited) You guys are missing out. Go to page 5 and the hot stuff really begins — namely, Lyubov: I was just going through the information section about how the scam progresses, and what is really hysterical is the sample letter for when the girl has started to have sexual dreams about her "love". Somehow, Ekaterina's English improves nearly 100% for this section of the letter! Edited September 19, 2006 by Dan Gould Quote
