I think most Training Camps start this week!

Is it time to think about starting a discussion to determine if we should plan to consider an evaluation of whether to talk about starting to converse about weighing the pros and cons of maybe starting a fantasy league like last year?

Some people might be interested in a fantasy league (I'm not.) But I definitely want to defend my title  in the NFL picks thread.

Yeah, whatever it was that we did last year on that other website - that's what I meant :tophat:

I'm on board for it again this season!

Hey guys- I did the pick-em site- it's still there on CBS Sportsline- I'm all for doing it again.

I didn't even think to look there. I just It looks like it's already set up for the coming season. Thanks Vajjy!

We have the players from last year already in there - Conn, Edward Tak, Noj, SS1, Vajerzy, Van Basten, and myself.

Anyone else want to join in the fun? And help knock Conn off his high horse?

Just select New England to win all their games, and we're likely to win the pool. :w

I seem to remember that you and Van B gave me a good run for my money. (Unlike that Aggie character.)

My pleasure to do it!

Haven't thought football much- my Phillies are doing well- and I'm excited about the Eagles!!

There should be a lot of excitement for the Eagles this season. They are a well-managed organization that doesn't overspend on players. They picked up a couple of pretty good cornerbacks from NE: Asante Samuel and Ellis Hobbs. The latter is a serviceable player, but they got him for only a couple of fifth rounders (or was it fourth rounders?)

They had a pretty good draft as well. The Cowboys appear to be slightly less talented than they were last season. Giants should be pretty tough--they are another well managed club. Redskins are improving. Tough division...very tough.

Eagles will have a bit of an emotional cloud hanging over them this season, with Jim Johnson's death today. He was a great, great defensive coordinator.

Whoa!! I didn't know he died! I'll have to read Philly.com

Melanoma is very scary.....

If I understand correctly, it was a tumor on his spine that did him in. I had not heard about this before, only the melanoma. Johnson may have been the best defensive coach that the league has seen. Not only was he a good coach but a good man. For that reason, more so than his coaching ability, you mourn his passing.

As an Eagles fan, you have to be concerned about the new DC, Sean McDermott. Although he says he'll continue to run the current defensive system, without Johnson at the helm, it can't possibly be the same.

Up over and out.

Wow- that's sad....I recall he couldn't stand anymore on the sidelines during the playoffs.

Sean McDermott played football at William & Mary- Darren Sharper was one safety- Sean was the other. It was CAA Media Day today and I heard Jimmye Laycock (coach at W&M) speak about Sean McDermott- he coached him then hired as an assistant after he graduated. Jimmye had nothing but high praise about Sean- how he was a hard worker and very smart and thinks he will do well. No one will replaced Jim Johnson- but I trust Andy Reid and Sean is a protege of Jim Johnson so I have high hopes.
